Terms of Use & Beta Disclaimer

Last updated: dated on publication

These terms cover the current pre-launch beta site. Reasonable-effort guidance, not formal legal advice.

These terms cover your use of the FairCharts website and waitlist at faircharts.com while the product is in pre-launch / beta. By using the site or joining the waitlist, you agree to the following. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

1. What FairCharts is (and is not)

FairCharts is a tool, currently in pre-launch beta, that reviews data charts and suggests clearer, less misleading versions based on data-visualization principles. Right now the public site is a preview and waitlist signup; the product itself is not yet generally available.

FairCharts provides informational suggestions about chart design. It is not professional, financial, legal, statistical, or any other regulated advice. You are responsible for the accuracy of your underlying data and for any decisions you or others make based on a chart. Always apply your own judgement before presenting or relying on a chart.

2. Free beta, provided "as is"

The beta is provided free of charge, "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including (without limitation) warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that its suggestions will be correct or complete for your use case.

3. We may change or discontinue it

Because this is an evolving beta, we may add, change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service, or the whole service, at any time and without notice. We may also change these terms; the current version will always be posted here with an updated date.

4. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, FairCharts and its operator will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or loss-of-profit damages arising from your use of (or inability to use) the site or beta. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law (for example, liability for intent or gross negligence, or mandatory consumer rights you have under Norwegian/EU law).

5. Acceptable use

Use the site lawfully. Do not attempt to disrupt, overload, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorised access to the service or its infrastructure, and do not submit unlawful or infringing content.

6. Your data

How we handle the personal data you give us (your waitlist email) is described in our Privacy Policy.

7. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Norway, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection rights you may have where you live.
